Terms of Business

The following terms of business applies to any assignment that Sandel, Løje & Wallberg is requested to assist a client with unless other terms are specifically agreed.

Client and case handling

  1. When receiving an assignment we confirm the receipt to the client. We will then describe the legal problems that we see at this time and make a suggestion to how the assignment may be solved.
  2. Internally we consider who at Sandel, Løje & Wallberg the assignment should be given to. These considerations are based on the client's needs and the nature of the assignment. Furthermore considerations are made with regard to the relations between the client and us, our sub-specialities, the need for lawyer seniority, knowledge of a trade, use of resources and deadlines. We are always ready to discuss and coordinate these considerations with the client.
  3. It is an all-important principal rule that all clients have two contact persons, a partner and a lawyer/assistant so that the solution of the assignment takes place in the most optimal and cost-conscious way for the client.
  4. Information of a confidential character from or about individuals and companies is treated with confidentiality and loyalty. All partners and employees at Sandel, Løje & Wallberg are subject to professional secrecy.
  5. Sandel, Løje & Wallberg has both copyrights and other intellectual property rights to all material prepared by Sandel, Løje & Wallberg when working with the matter. Our clients will receive the rights necessary for the use of the written material handed out to them by Sandel, Løje & Wallberg.
  6. All case files are kept for five years with Sandel, Løje & Wallberg from the date of the completion of the case. Should we receive original documents these will be copied and the originals returned to the client once the assignment has been completed.

Communication

  1.  The client will receive a copy of all written material in the case, whether it is material received or sent out. The client will also receive information about telephone conversations relation to the matter.
  2. We widely use e-mail when corresponding and electronic transfer of documents and can offer the client an agreement about using encrypted or ciphered communication.

Liability, insurance and venue 

  1. We are liable for the services rendered by us in agreement with the general rules of Danish law and have taken out an usual legal malpractice insurance in a well-known insurance company.
  2. Any disputes between a client and Sandel, Løje & Wallberg shall be resolved in accordance with Danish law at the competent Danish court.
