What cannot be protected as a utility model?

The provisions covering what cannot be protected as a utility model are identical to the provisions regarding patents. Discoveries and an activity of thought cannot be protected as a utility model. Other things that cannot obtain protection as utility models are scientific theories, species of plants, breeds of animals, human genes in their natural condition, procedures within surgical or therapeutic treatment, artistic creations and generally inventions whose use would be in conflict with moral conduct or law and order. The invention has to be a practical reality and thus reproducible.
