For how long is a design registration valid?

A design registration has a maximal period of protection of 25 years. A design registration is filed for a 5 year period and the period of protection is counted from the date of the application.

With regard to a design of a component used for repairing a compounded product in order to give back the product its original look the design protection can only be valid for a period of 15 years.
